If you are creating a system of employee benefits for a team of people working both on site and remotely, start by selecting benefits for those who work remotely. Naturally, these will work for the whole team. The following tips are from the HR Zone server.
1. Modern technology
Remote employees will appreciate an extra monitor, better headphones, new software, or a whole new computer or tablet. You should, however, also consider providing remote employees with a certain amount of money so that they could purchase technologies according to their own needs and preferences.
2. Household care
Working from home doesn't mean having more time to look after the house or apartment. Therefore, one benefit you could offer is a cleaning service, gardener or meals delivery to make your remote employees feel comfortable in their home office.
3. Office equipment
Sitting on a high-quality office chair at a high-quality office desk while working from home is quite different than lying on an armchair with a computer on your stomach. Some remote workers may also appreciate a desk adapted for standing or a treadmill.
4. Health care
Contribution to insurance is one thing but you can also contribute to a gym membership, various exercising classes, home gym equipment, or purchase of new running shoes.
5. Education
Include remote workers in your company's training budget. You can also make online courses available to them or pay for subscriptions to professional journals and books.
6. Team events
Include remote workers in your company's team events, such as various sports events, lunches and dinners, cultural events, team building activities, and so on.
7. Public recognition
Remote employees may also miss a benefit that is otherwise common at the workplace: recognition in front of others. Look for ways to express praise to employees even if you don't see them every day in the office. For example, you might publicly appoint the "employee of the month" or highlight successes of individual team members on your intranet or in a shared newsletter.
