The average gross monthly wage in the Czech Republic was CZK 24,514 in the 3rd quarter of this year, which was CZK 348 (1.4%) more than in the 3rd quarter of 2011. Due to the 3.3% increase of consumer prices, however, the average real wage decreased by 1.8%. Compared to the previous quarter, the average nominal wage increased by 0.3%, the Czech Statistical Office informed.
In the private sector, the average nominal wage increased by 1.3% and the average real wage decreased by 1.9%. In the public sector the average nominal wage increased by 2.3% and decreased by 1.0% in real terms.
The average wage for the first three quarters of 2012 amounted to CZK 24,408, which is a year on year increase of CZK 563 (2.4%). In real terms, the average wage decreased by 1.0% during this period.
