Co-author of the study, psychologist Jessica Keeney explains that traditionally, companies tried to help their employees balance work and family but now it is really work and personal life, regardless of the family. According to her, organizations should offer benefits such as flexible working hours not only to parents but also to those who want to devote their free time to any of their interests such as sports.
The member of employees who are single and living alone is increasing worldwide. Often, they are female manager. The study of the psychologists from the Michigan State University showed that inflexible work is reflected negatively on both parents and singles in three key areas - health (exercise, doctor visits), family and friends and leisure (sports, reading, watching TV and other hobbies).
