Many employers care about how their employees look like very much - especially about those who represent them in front of customers and the public. A database of potential employees made of only beautiful people could, therefore, be very useful for them. This idea inspired the controversial dating social network BeautifulPeople.com to introduce a new service for employers, Mashable.com informed.
BeautifulPeople.com has existed for more than 10 years and has more than 5 million users worldwide. All these users have to pass through the assessment of the existing members and can be accepted only when they are found sufficiently physically attractive. Now, employers are allowed to choose from them, too. The website promises its users to get regular updates on vacancies from employers who are looking for attractive employees.
"An honest employer will tell you that it pays to hire good-looking staff," Greg Hodge, managing director of BeautifulPeople.com, was quoted by Mashable.com. Although it may sound discriminatory, Hodge believes that it is an absolutely serious offer and intends to develop his web's services for employers further.
What do you think about this method of recruitment? Do you find beauty an important factor traditional databases of job seekers are missing?
