A good HR department does not rely on money or other resources provided by the company. The most important thing is the team or the person who is in charge of HR in the company. So what can you do to make your team really good?
First of all, you must know how to sell your HR vision to the company's top management. You need a clear idea of what you want to achieve and be able to explain it in a way that will win others over to it. If you are not sure where to start, simply write all your ideas down. When you manage to put it all together, you can focus on communication. Some other tips that you can use as inspiration were published on TLNT.com.
1. Eliminate unnecessary administration
Work smart, not hard. Learn how to use modern technology to be able to spend more time on HR activities with high added value. Stop investing most of your time in processing administrative tasks that can be carried out by software.
2. Be there for employees as well as managers
Both of these groups are your clients and you must be able to perceive their needs and problems. The better you know them, the better the programs you can create to support them.
3. Stop processes most employees hate
Think about a process hated by most people around you. Who says it can't be changed? Find a more acceptable procedure and implement it. In this way you can continue changing processes not only within HR, but also in other teams based on feedback gained from employees.
4. Learn to retreat if needed
Having a fighting spirit is important in HR. However, the art of choosing the path of least resistance is important as well. The fact that you have a solution which you believe is best is one thing. What solutions will be most comfortable and acceptable for employees is another thing.
5. Be more humane
Treat people with greater understanding. Keep in mind that all people have good and bad days, and that various pressures are being put on them. A good HR professional can't behave like a machine or a dictator.
What other conditions for creating a good HR team would you add?
